Okay, why in the absolute fuck was someone who knew very little about maneuvering in a kitchen—taking part in an event like this?

What even?!

Maybe this was an excuse for him to get out the formal wear he hadn’t touched in ages, but holy hell—since when was a Slurpuff considered a ‘dog’?

So strange.

Either way, the first thing that was on the menu was… a latte. Should be easy enough, right?

It really, completely, totally depended on what he had—unfortunately, his current cast of companions didn’t fit the criteria however the other offering on the menu was… easy enough.

Thank fuck he had Morvydd and Tristan with him.

“Mor, get those strawberries ready, will you? Tristan—make sure the entire thing doesn’t fall apart!”

The Grass-type and the dual-type then set to work. Clearly they were just as confused as their human companion was, however—

A Vine Whip accompanied by the Sweet Scent from the Bulbasaur, guided by the Accelgor’s Sticky Hold ensured the strawberry sandwich… stayed cohesive.

Because come on, how can someone fuck up something as simple as a sandwich?!

completed the Scorbunny Sandwich! Used Vine Whip, Sweet Scent, and the ability Sticky Hold!

Kaida knew of cooking. She knew of the joys of cooking, of eating, and being with family as she ate...it was here that customers would learn that she knew nothing of the art of cooking.

She wore a suit rather than dress, having bluntly refused something she was sure she'd trip in, it would be like putting on a tail she knew not to step on. Somewhere on the chest, a Slurpuff pin hung, far too adorable for the woman.

"Hel, bring this, now." She handed a cup to a Grovyle of all Pokemon, who darted off, not at all careful enough to avoid splashing the half-made latte. Somewhere in the kitchen, she set it down and Unburdened, exploded with speed back to Kaida...knocking down a sheet of plates with an incredible crash.

And through it all, the Chef Slurpuff somehow drew more customers near.

Used Unburden for the Eevee Latte!

Andres had been quick to go home and grab formal wear out of his closet. The pristine outfit hidden away behind his more comfortable clothing in a garment bag. He’d never really worked in the service industry, earning more money through gym challenges and from his allowance, but he was kind of excited to get the experience. Especially when his boss seemed to be a good boy like the Slurpuff Chef that was busying himself.

His pokemon were on standby in the back as Andres fast walked back and forth between customers and the kitchen. He opened the door after the sound of a loud crash resounded. “Don’t worry about it! I’ll take the lattes and sandwiches out for you!” he said, less perturbed than he should be about the messy state the kitchen was in. He moved over to the plates, cleaning up the sides to mak them a little more presentable, if only to match their business attire. “Order up!”

Andres is ready to assist!

The loud crashing reached his ears, but he barely flinched at the sudden noise—he was definitely not meant for the kitchen.

Luckily, after Morvydd and Tristan helped clear up the mess, the sight of a Grovyle moving around the tight space made him pick up the pace.

This time it was Vesta and his yet-unnamed Chewtle who took center stage—there was one problem though.

His Chewtle liked to chomp on things, like a really badly-behaved canine. While Vesta was keeping the flames heated perfectly (or at least as perfectly as she could with her Ember flames), the Chewtle was trying to take a bite out of the Slurpuff!

“No! That’s not food!” he groaned as he picked up the Chewtle with some difficulty and made it aim at the pot. “Add more water here, please! Don’t bite the head chef!” he added with an exasperated tone.

A brief burst of Water Gun into the pot, and they were soon ready for plating…

Who knew that this was going to be a disaster as the evening went on…

completed the Eevee Latte! Used Water Gun and Ember!

Swablu Shaved Ice and Eiscue Caprese Salad? Kaida stared a long moment, both convinced there was no need to "cook" shaved ice and wondering how to cook a salad. "I got it." She answered, even though she did not.

She set out a cup for the shaved ice (she forgot to wash it but it was shaved ice, so what did it matter?) And got to work cutting up the ingredients for the salad...in a decidedly not uniform manner. "Sharpen please." She'd ask of the helping Pokemon, the flimsy knives of this kitchen not standing up to use at all.

Helping with both of Order #2!

he's late. late to a volunteer contest. he's half a mind to skip out on the event all-together, but summer's threat still rings in his brain. two months. that's all he has to get the money back. so it's odd jobs and minute scams while he tries to grab cash fast, because her interest cap is sure to be shit.

he bursts into the kitchen, green and blue-dyed hair wild, showing platinum roots. he takes a look at the mess that's already been made, realizes his team is just as out of their element as he is, and starts to relax.

the ingredient list is thrust at him and he scans it quickly. he eyes the shaved ice cup that's been set out and waves it in the air. "got this one! how are we doing on time?" he asks.

he releases several pokemon. the dewgong needs quite a bit of room to maneuver, but the aurora beam, combined with lena's ice beam and snow's powder snow creates a well-worth-the-wait spectacle of ice.

Just as he thought three of them who knew nothing about cooking would get w—

Well, that was a welcome sight.

“Thanks for helping out, we’re short-handed,” he said as he realized… oh boy.

“You all might want to give me some room.”

A few moments later an Avalugg appeared, causing anything that wasn’t secured to be either jostled out of position or knocked off-balance.

“Sharpen, and get to it,” he remarked as the Avalugg looked up, confused at all the noise before letting the smooth, flat surface of its body be used as a Sharpening spot.

The knives were promptly sharpened, and Lars grabbed one before chopping up the bunch of greens that were already there.

Used Sharpen to get Eiscue Caprese Salad started.

As Kaida got unexpected assistance from the giant ice-type, her Grovyle, Hel, searched for something to do. Certainly, the had no hands to help with, nor were her claws agile enough to cut up the greenery like Kaida and her packleader (Laurence Anderson) were doing.

Instead, she stared at the bowl as it was completed, and was struck with an idea. A good and complete one, not tainted by instinct, a rarity for the raptor. She swiped her leafy appendages, peppering the salad with Leafage. There, now it was perfect.

Used Leafage for the Eiscue Caprese Salad!

“W-What the hell are you doing out here??” he asked bewildered as he tossed a small trash bag over into the dumpster. The pink puffball stared up at him with giant eyes and a little smile, unnerving him. He didn’t like Jigglypuffs, mostly because their sickly-sweet melody could put anything to sleep. And he had somewhere to be. “Uh…um…ok bye!” he said as he turned to sprint away form it. It wasn’t very pleased and promptly pouted in that way only Jigglypuffs could, floating up and bouncing after him.

Andres stepped inside before shouting in surprise at the sight of an Avalugg taking up most of the kitchen space. “Gods! What now!?” he asked, not really wanting and answer as he climbed over the ice pokemon and looked at the dishes remaining. The Jigglypuff managed to follow him, squeezing through the crack of the door as it closed before bouncing off the heads of each member and finally landing on Andres’ head. It cooed something staring at the shaved ice before Andres tried to swat it off him. “Ah! Don’t mess with that you little stray!” he shouted as the Jigglypuff opened its mouth as if to eat it. It promptly closed it and simply patted each shaved ice while making smooching noises before flittering off into a corner that Andres couldn’t reach it to lick its paw. At least, it was done. “Someone get that out of here I’ll go serve these in the meantime.” He whined, tired of the fairy type.

Lars thought he felt something jumping atop his head, however when he looked up—the presence was no longer there.

Seeing as the Avalugg was no longer needed, he quickly recalled the Ice-type, which mercifully freed up more space in the chaotic work space for them to move around—and the next order was sent in.

Wait, what?

“How in the—” he exclaimed as he took a look at the third order. Sure, it may have looked simple on paper, but in execution?

Well Kyogre be damned if the kitchen didn’t explode due to their combined chaos at this point.

Wondering if they could use a—

He then summoned a Lilligant, who was just as confused at all the chaos and noise erupting around them—

“Can you give a bit of a Helping Hand around here?” he asked—no, practically begged—the Pokémon, who did as he’d asked.

Used Helping Hand to start making the Alcremie Cupcakes!

Andres returned quickly, and seeing the Jigglypuff was still floating around ready to sing at any moment, he dropped a pokeball on it while it was distracted. Fortunately, that was enough, and he pocketed the pesky fairy type for later. He moved over towards Lars squinting at the list before grinning. “OH! I can help with that.” He said as he began to rush around pulling plates and buns for the Sneasel Burgers, while setting up little cupcake wrappers for the Alcreamie Cupcakes. He then quickly let out a pair of pokemon that stared at their new environment, and their Boss Dog Chef in bewilderment. “Ok Chimchar, help me cut ingredients for these burgers, and cook that mat. Medium Rare is good.” He said before the little fire monkey hopped onto the countertops, slicing as random vegetables in the kitchen before coming over to cook whatever patty Andres had thrown on the stove.

He then washed his hands quickly of beef fat and turned to Alcreamie. “Ok, Martín del Mar said you would be perfect at this! I’m glad I brought you along. Go ahead and help them finish those when they’re ready ok? Please?” He said before the purple headed pokemon turned and began to delicately pick out adorable confection to Decorate the dish once she was given the go ahead.

The kitchen was getting crowded, and Kaida carefully slithered through the cracks in her best attempts to help out. Knowing little about cooking something to perfection, Kaida stuck to her best aspect. Opposable thumbs.

Whatever she saw a Pokemon struggling with, she assisted in, speaking quiet encouragement before moving to the next.

Surely they were doing a good job?
